Some New Guests & Some Old Favorites

To Finish up May of 2008 we welcomed County Arts Commission Visual Arts Coordinator Rita Ferri and “The Essential Worker” curator Brett Leigh Dicks on the first of two new Creative Community episodes on Channel 21. They shared samples from the exhibit of 10 regional photographers who captured images of laborers who keep us housed, safe, and fed. On the second new episode, playwright Barbara Lebow discussed her latest work Plumfield, Iraq, which deals with the costs of war and how it affects someone who survives it.

Guest to watch for in June include Artist/Mentor Rafael Perea de la Cabada and new Arts Fund Executive Director Nina Dunbar who talked about the “Teen Art Mentorship Show,” Santa Barbara Dance Alliance Executive Director Julie McLeod, and nationally renown poet Martin Espada who did a special reading this spring at SBCC. Plus, the Santa Cruz Island Poetry Special will begin airing.
